I chose to scrap my granddaughter's two dance teachers. LO1, Miss Devyn, as everyone call her (yes, even me) gives so much of herself to see that each and every dancer has the best possible chance to achieve their dreams.
Kadence has been dancing since she was 2 1/2 years old. Those first 3 years was a challenge, I was ready to give up as I watched her do her own thing. The next they start Lyrical dance it all changed for her. It was after that year Miss Devyn started a competition dance group. Not only has she become a beautiful dancer, but overall a better person. She has learned nothing comes easy, it takes hard work and dedication. The following year she was asked to dance up with the Teens on their competition number. I believe it was the confidence and desire that Miss Devyn believed in her has brought her to where she is today.
Mind you we are nothing like "Dance Moms" . . . small rural town where dancers come from all the surrounding counties in order to make up enough dancers to make the teams. I am so proud to say that our "Dance Stations" can run and even pass some of the biggest studios in Oklahoma. It is so seldom that you find teachers as dedicated as these!
The following year Kadence wanted to do a solo at competition. Not only does it take extra time, but even more dedication and confidence to get up on a stage in front of judges. Not to mention that the audience is full of watchers as well. Miss Devyn chose her own daughter, Kylie, who is only 3 years older than Kadence to be her choreographer for her solo. The bond those two share, touches my heart.
The 2016 Competition season Kadence placed in the top Ten Overall Highest Score at several competitions.
My two newest Layouts are dedicated to Miss Devyn and her daughter Kylie
Such a blessing to Kadence and all the other dance students!
